Meet the face behind mad’s beauty bar…

About MAD’S BEAUTY BAR…

I started my first business - MAD’S BEAUTY BAR - in December of 2022 when I was 15 years old. I was a dancer for around 13 years, so I was surrounded by hair and beauty, and fell in love with hair braiding. I started to learn braiding at around 8 years old, practicing on my then 6 year old sister. I have been fortunate enough to have the most amazing clients, growing my business significantly over the last two and a half years. The business has grown as I have, honing my skills and finding my niche in hair braiding which I absolutely love and am never tired of. My absolute favourite part of my job is being able to make people of all ages feel their best, while giving them an enjoyable experience. I love the laughs, giggles, stories and life advice that I have shared with hundreds of clients over the last few years. I was fortunate enough to create a comfortable and cosy at-home salon in a room in my house. This room used to be my Dad’s ‘study’, but really it was used for him to play video games in! Since then I have turned the room into, in my opinion, the prettiest pink room ever!! I would love for you to visit and check out what the rave around MAD’S BEAUTY BAR is all about!

A little about Maddie…

Hey lovely, I’m Maddie!! The owner and sole operator of MAD’S BEAUTY BAR. I am 17 years old, currently in Year 12 completing my HSC! I have one younger sister - Mia, who is 18 months younger than me, and was my first braid model. My family has a black Labrador named Lexi, who is now 7 and is an absolute princess. Those fortunate enough to meet her know she loves a cuddle and pat, and even the occasional game of fetch! My birthday is mid September so that makes me a Virgo – I am not particularly sure what that means, but I’ve been told I act exactly like my star sign!

I have followed the NRL since I was born, supporting the Newcastle Knights as a result of my family’s obsession. I also support the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL with my Dad. I’m a pop girl through and through, with my favourite artist of all-time being Tate McRae – I’ve been to every tour she’s ever had in Sydney! I’m obsessed with music and concerts, I love going to any and all concerts when given the chance!! My favourite colour is actually blue, despite the misconception of it being pink because of my business. In my gap year next year, I will be completing a Cert 3 in Floristry, with the hopes of creating another business!
